The Lions Club
Jameson Lions Club
The Jameson Lions Club is the local chapter of Lions International, a service organization. The local Lions Club was established in 1952. Its purposes are to support a variety of activities that promote the welfare of those in the community. Each August the Lions sponsor the Jameson Picnic, which brings entertainment to the community, provides a time for former residents to return and get reacquainted, and generates funds that are distributed in the community. Members of the Lions Club helped on all of the Community Betterment Association activities, with their greatest involvement being in the park tree-trimming and clean-up. The Lions also provided free usage of its building for the garage sale and served lunch during the garage sale and auction. The CBA association also meets free of charge in the Lions building.
The Lions meet bimonthly on the first and third Mondays at 6:30 p.m. in the Lions Hall on Main Street.
